SUMMARY:The Sorries
DESCRIPTION:THE SORRIES are Douglas Kay (vocals\, guitar\, bodhran\, mandolin\, flute) and Martin Philip (vocals\, guitar\, bodhran\, tres cubano). The duo sing\, play and banter their way through a show which features a host of traditional tunes from the much-loved Scottish songbook\, as well as some songs gathered from the oral tradition and a few original compositions. \nThe two formed The Sorries in 2006 following a conversation during a tour of the Highlands where both Martin and Douglas were performing as part of separate projects. Coming from very different musical backgrounds\, they discovered a shared love for the music of The Corries. Over a bottle of whisky they decided that the duo is still an ideal format in which to present so many of the wonderful folk songs in which Scotland is so rich. \nThey now have seven albums under their belts – their most recent\, I Will Work receiving airplay on Radio Scotland – and have performed to lively crowds in venues which range from Moscow’s Samhain Festival to Hampden Park\, and from the Brighton Fringe to the Isle of Eigg.  They have performed to sell-out crowds across the last 16 years of the Edinburgh Fringe and in 2026 the lads are delighted to be embarking on a Spring tour in venues throughout Scotland.
