DESCRIPTION:Macbeth: Blood & Bluegrass by The Barden Party is a critically acclaimed musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic play. Set to a score of Americana and bluegrass music\, this version of the bard’s tale blends classic literature with a modern twist alongside original arrangements of the music of Mumford and Sons\, Dolly Parton and The SteelDrivers\, to create an emotional\, accessible\, toe-tapping theatrical experience. \nThe work was devised and developed in Wellington\, New Zealand and toured around NZ and Australia from November 2024 to March 2025\, winning Best Theatre Week 2 at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and receiving multiple five-star reviews along the way. The Barden Party then brought the production to The Edinburgh Fringe in August 2025\, where it received five-star reviews from Theatre Weekly\, Musical Theatre and The Recs\, along with standing ovations from audiences. \nYou’ll never see the notorious Scottish Play in the same way again!
