SUMMARY:Thrown
DESCRIPTION:Sweat. Breath. Opposition. Negotiation. Fear. How long can you hold on? \n5 wildly different women gather in the muddy fields of the Highland Games circuit\, ready to compete in the obscure art of Backhold Wrestling. The pearls are off\, influencer videos posted\, “Gucci bag” from the Barras cast aside as they attempt to join forces\, wrestling with the only thing that could stop them from taking home the championship – each other. Will their differences face-plant Imogen\, Chantelle\, Jo\, Pamela and Helen’s chances of success in the mud? \nSatirical\, poignant\, and dynamic\, Thrown gets to grips with belonging and identity in Scotland. A unique\, unmissable new production. \nIt will be funny\, it will be loud\, it will be brutal.

SUMMARY:The Gods The Gods The Gods (Relaxed Performance)
DESCRIPTION:Performed as a 12-track album\, The Gods The Gods The Gods is an exhilarating weave of big beats\, heavy basslines\, soaring melodies\, and heart-stopping spoken word \nThe 65-minute show weaves together 4 stories: Two kids meet out dancing\, they’re set to fall hard; A woman is on a beach\, alone at night\, looking at the stars; A bloke is on a bridge\, thinking about jumping\, just before dark. It’s a show about what we continually look for outside of ourselves\, and what we might find in those people who surround us. \nThe Gods The Gods The Gods is the third show in the internationally acclaimed series of Myths from the two ‘masters of storytelling’ (Fourth Wall) Wright&Grainger. Following their multi-award winning tellings of Orpheus and Eurydice\, Wright&Grainger call us to the crossroads where mythology meets real life.

SUMMARY:The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists
DESCRIPTION:The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists adapted by Neil Gore from the book by Robert Tressell\, directed by Louise Townsend \nNeil Gore\, presents a one-person version of the classic novel by Robert Tressell featuring projection\, political conjuring tricks\, live music and song. Meet the famous characters and enjoy the scenes\, speeches and songs\, featuring the Great Money Trick as its centrepiece. \nThis enduring and absorbing classic story of a year in the life of a group of Edwardian painters and decorators is brought to life by Neil Gore using his extensive knowledge of the book and the play\, having performed it in many versions over forty years. \n‘The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists’ follows a group of workers as they renovate ‘The Cave’\, a three-storey townhouse\, for Mayor Sweater. It traces their hardships and struggles for survival in a complacent and stagnating Edwardian England. These workers are the ‘philanthropists’ who throw themselves into back-breaking work for poverty wages in order to generate profit for their masters. They are joined by artist Owen\, whose spirited attacks on the dishonesty of Capitalism along with his Socialist vision\, highlights the exploitation in their workplace but also focuses on the inequality in society as a whole.

SUMMARY:Twitawoo
DESCRIPTION:Vision Mechanics is delighted to be taking Twitawoo\, one of their most popular puppet shows for children\, to Aberdeenshire. \nThe show introduces us to Gerry\, the forest ranger\, who looks after all the animals that live in Ghillie Dhu Woods\, including Owl\, Badger\, Squirrel\, Pine Marten\, and a few others. Gerry wants to win the tidiest forest in Scotland competition but there is a lot of waste to clear up. And meanwhile\, an owl in the nearby forest has gone missing… \nThe show features songs and music and brings to life a host of fabulous Scottish woodland creatures who invite the audience to help them look after their home. It is also an uplifting tale about the importance of friendship and about falling in love. \n“Twitawoo is funny but also has a strong message about how important it is to look after our environment and how dropping litter can harm animals\,” says Director\, Symon Macintyre\, who performs in the show along with Kim Bergsagel\, who also designed and made all the puppets. He adds\, “It is a great way to enthuse children about litter issues and about theatre.” \nA perfect show for 4–8-year-olds and their families.
